Everyone’s life tells a story. As a parent my job is to do a good job of writing the first few chapters of my child’s story while they are still too young to write it themselves. My responsibility as they grow older is to gradually teach them to write their own story. Eventually they will write act two and act three of their own story using the skills I’ve taught them while writing act one. If I’ve done a good job, they will create a story I can be proud of, a story beyond anything I could have imagined to write for them.
